Video Content Branding
The team at Versus recently worked with Time Inc.’s People Magazine to create redesigned brand identities across the digital video space, and build and implement robust toolkits for in-house teams to quickly and easily customize all video content. During this engagement the Versus team, led by Executive Producer Rob Meyers and Creative Director Justin Barnes, worked with People Editor in Chief Jess Cagle, Creative Director Andrea Durham and EP Video J.J. Miller to refresh and re-brand the magazine to effectively organize video content across all their verticals.
This was accomplished by amplifying the iconic logo and crafting a unified look with distinct identities for four verticals: celebrity, lifestyle, news, and stories. The team designed dozens of deliverables for each, including opens, title cards, lower thirds, transitions, and backgrounds. Once brand elements were complete, Versus implemented four toolkits – one per vertical – in Adobe After Effects, allowing People’s editors to pull any element directly into their edit and customize as needed. With over 150 pieces of video content each week, including dozens of original segments, the toolkits needed to be totally simple and user-friendly for maximum efficiency. Additionally, Versus delivered a full brand package and toolkit for People’s in-house live video show “People Now.”
