Damien Drake

Damien Michael Drake is an award-winning director and cinematographer of commercials, feature length documentaries, TV shows, music videos and specialized content for clients ranging from Nike to National Geographic.
His advertising credits as a Director/DP include campaigns for the NFL, MLB, Weight Watchers, Tumi, Rolex and H&M, and as a cinematographer, campaigns for Nike, Adidas and Xbox. Damien’s TV credits include series distributed by Netflix, National Geographic, BBC, HBO, MTV, among others. Damien earned an Emmy nomination in 2014 for the cinematography on “Mission Blue,” distributed by Netflix.

Damien’s Commercial Directing work:

MLB: MLB worked with Versus and Director Damien Drake to create the 2019 Let the Kids Play campaign. This campaign was conceived to spotlight Major League Baseball’s fresh crop of superstars and their off-the-field personalities.

UNDER ARMOUR: Under Armour and Versus recently partnered on the latest Myfitnesspal Victory Stories episode, featuring fitness influencer John David Glaude. Directed by Versus Director Damien Drake, this short documentary spotlighted the influential cross-fit athlete’s journey from “Obese to Beast”.

BROOKLYN NETS: To open the 2017-2018 Brooklyn Nets season, Translation partnered with Versus and Director Damien Drake to create the Barclay Center’s Game Opening video.

WEIGHT WATCHERS: To push WW forward into new territory with a modern, sophisticated, less polished look, Damien directed multiple pieces that captured real people in real life’s moments in a raw and unadulterated way, while also portraying the individualism the WW program allows.

TUMI: In The Perfect Journey, a content piece presented by Tumi and directed by Damien Drake, Brian Lososki, a Wall Street Trader shares his passion for flying and how he uses it for PALS, a charitable organization that helps arrange transportation for patients who need to travel for medical treatments.

VERIZON UP: Momentum Worldwide, the experiential arm of McCann Erickson, turned to Versus to shoot some of the NFL’s top talent in a season long promotion between NFL and Verizon. The campaign, directed by Damien Drake, played during the 2018-2019 season on the stadium jumbotrons and across social media.

GOOD MORNING FOOTBALL: NFL partnered with Versus to promote the Season 2 launch of Good Morning Football. The spot, Directed by Damien Drake, was named Number One TV Marketing Spot of 2017 by Promax.
